FABSE Conversation with Dr. Reid

Dr. Reid’s Superintendent Reflection from February 26, 2023

Wednesday evening, I had the opportunity to connect with our Fairfax Alliance of Black School Educators (FABSE) for a thoughtful conversation regarding how we can best support our students and staff as we aspire to mountain top educational experiences for each and every one of our students; our collective future depends on it.  FABSE President Sylinda Banks facilitated an engaging and enlightening conversation that we plan on continuing on a regular basis.”

FABSE Scholarship

The Fairfax Alliance of Black School Educators (FABSE) prides itself in giving back to our community. We do this in various ways, however, we are most proud of our scholarship program. Since FABSE has been in existence, we have awarded over $25,000 in scholarships ($5,000 in 2021 alone). Membership into our organization is the primary funding source for scholarships. Approximately 55% of membership dues go directly to scholarships each year.  We also conduct fundraisers to supplement the scholarship fund so that we may award more dollars or include more scholars. We encourage all to continue to spread the word about FABSE to others and/or participate in our scholarship fundraisers. Click on Donations to support our scholarship fund!
